Risk Busters

If you'd like to make changes in your life to be healthier, our RiskBusters program may help. The program was originally designed to address chronic diseases in Bandera County--diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems that are caused by lifestyle.  But then, the Clinic staff discovered that RiskBusters works for everyone.  Every patient at the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic is welcome to participate.  Whatever health goals you have for yourself, RiskBusters can help.

The program starts with a short survey--the RiskBusters Assessment Survey which asks you questions about your lifestyle and the things you would like to change.

As any part of RiskBusters, Clinic patients can come to the Clinic to have weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, and health factors checked.  Make an appointment or stop by the Clinic during open hours (Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and join the movement for a healthier Bandera County!

Eating Healthy:  If you are a patient . . . or someone who cooks for a patient . . . the Clinic's Teaching Kitchen has hands-on programs to help you buy, prepare, and cook a healthy meal.  You get to cook and taste things that may be new to you. You can spend time in the kitchen with others who are interested in learning more about healthy cooking.

Simply Move:  If you are a patient . . . or know a person you'd like to exercise with . . . this program is for you.  We keep information on this program updated on the Events page.

Health and Wellness:  If you'd like to hear more about health in Bandera County, please let us know. We can come speak to you and a group of people.  If you don't have a place to meet, ask if you can use the Clinic's Education Room for your meeting.
